Coming 2010. Upper Deck will release the Marvel Superstars TCG, a new game based on the Marvel Universe as envisioned by the movies, in February. This will be the first time that the movies, including Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, the X-Men Trilogy, the Blade Trilogy and others, will interact with each other in a Marvel game. A Starter Deck will be the first release, followed a few weeks later by the Booster Packs. Approximately 300 cards will be released in the first set. Each player chooses to become a classic Marvel hero or villain, then constructs a team to defeat the opponent.

I want to either play as Iron Man or The Abomination, he was so freaking awsome in The Hulk movie.
Also any idea if they're going to tie in The Punisher movies too? or are they trying to sweep those under the rug and pretend they never existed given the latest one never even made the big screen?

This one might surprise you. With Upper Deck losing YuGiOh they are looking for another big title. The Vs. system was huge when it came out and only fell over when UDE published the World of Warcraft CCG and started over promoting that one. This could be the right time for UDE to give this one a push with the recent success of all the superhero movies in the past few years.

as a big fan of vs system and a bigger fan of the marvel universe, i am a little concerned with the direction upperdeck has decided to take by making marvel movies the platform of marvel superstars ccg. now dont get me wrong i am a fan of all marvel movies and i mean all marvel movies (even ben afflecks daredevil, the not so fantastic 4, x men 3 reasons not to watch it i can go on and on)but their comic book counterparts offer far more options in terms of expanding their new card game when it comes time to releasing new sets, regardless of how many new movies being released. what is also of concern is that disney announced in late august that they are trying to buy out marvel entertainment the deal if it goes through means that disney will own all movies released and being released by marvel entertainment , i hope that disney are ccg friendly. another thing to take into account is that upperdeck have a bad track record when it comes to the longevity of its games, yugioh is now solely being distributed by konami due to bad management and vs system was snubbed so that they could push wow and now even though wows popularity is still very solid its nothing compared to when it was first released. still i am going to play marvel superstars when it comes out even though their are plenty of reasons why i shouldnt its all because i'm a sucker for marvel madness.
i'm uzumaki, believe it.

just for a heads up, Disney did buy out marvel and have stated that they will not be interfearing with the running of it. The reason why they brought it out was so can get a chunk of the male market which Disney has got no action in right now.
