hey cadell, I have just started playing and i bought the starter set so im still learning too so if you want to join in and learn that is fine. Im trying to get some more players just to test out some games and get the hang of it. So if you want to join in just post on here so we can try to organise a couple of days.

Havent decided on the days yet cos im trying to get some players. If you want to join in just post on here.
So far if you and Fa1c0n join in that will be 4 players cos mark might join. As you've played before feel free to use a level 1 or 2 character you have created previously or just use one of the 5 starting characters included in the quickstart guide.

I'd be interested in this. I listened to the Penny Arcade podcasts and it sounded like it'd be fun so I would be down for this.
I've read up on it enough to understand the basics of play and combat. Were you thinking of running it from the store?

I would just run it up the back of the store on the tables if there free. I dont have the core rulebooks yet but the starter set has the basics covered with a small adventure meant for 5 players. I tested it out with a mate both of us controlling 2 players and we managed... just!
The five starter characters are a dwarf fighter, halfling rogue, elhadrin wizard, human cleric and a dragonborn cleric.
With current lists we would have me, Drolhtis, brimsy and i could probably convince degren to come down too. It would be a good introduction to the basics of D&D for everyone. If everyone is still interested ill see what we can do.

Are we able to make our own characters? I downloaded the character creator and have been tinkering around with it. It's here if any of you are interested. You can make characters up to level 3 on it and it does all the work for you. After that you need to buy the books.

@ Drolhtis Yeah i will probably DM unless someone else wants to for an adventure or something. Ive only played and DMed once so i probably suck but oh well Also custom characters would be fine as long as their level 1 if possible but level 2 would be fine if thats all you've got and dont want to create a new character. or you can use a starter chracter that has all traits and feats pre made. Also if you want to play a low level adventure bring it along just incase.

I would be willing to try out DMing at some point. I love messing around stories and playing around with that sort of thing so that'd be fun.
I found a program that lets me turn character sheets into .pdf files if anyone wants me to so you can just print it out.
Having read up a bit, best bet would be to try out the sample adventure and see how that goes then go from there. I had a look around and most places say that a well balanced party looks like this (copy and pasted) which the sample adventure seems to be.
1 Leader: Cleric, Bard, Artificer, Warlord or Shaman. 1 Defender: Warrior, Paladin, Warden or Swordmage. 1 Controller: Wizard, Invoker or Druid. 2 Strikers: Ranger, Rogue, Warlock, Avenger, Barbarian, Sorcerer or Monk.
I wouldn't mind being a Leader or Striker for the trial adventure. In any event maybe one night this week or weekend? I don't finish work till 5 so if we were looking to start at 5:30ish that would be ideal.

That's fine, as long as I know about a week in advance I can make sure I'm not doing anything.

Well first of all I'd like to play an artificer, also I have some of the D&D books but I went halvies with a friend.
Anyway so far I don't work Tuesdays or Thursdays but I'm busy Thursday nights and Sundays I run my own D&D so anything around those times are good for me.
