IMO Upper deck entertainment will be bankrupt this time next year and heres a few reasons why.
reason 1 - Upper deck were taken to court by Konami after they were caught making counterfeit yugioh cards and distributing them as a result they lost the rights to sell the number 1 selling card game in the world and were lucky to escape with an out of court settlement agreed upon by both parties for a reported $10 million dollars, and that was lucky.
reason 2 - on 6th of Aug Topps CO won the rights to become exclusive trading card makers for MLB a major blow in terms of money for Upper deck as MLB was their number 1 cash cow, it use to be second only to yugi.
reason 3 - on 5th of Nov 09 Upper deck settled with Topps Co after they were taken to court for releasing a range of baseball cards that mimicked its designs that Topps had released in the 1970s.
reason 4 - 12 hrs ago from the time this thread started MLB are now taking Upper deck to court because they are still releasing baseball cards that they no longer have any right to sell.
when vs system first came out i was a massive fan from beginning to the end and even though i had read and heard of good reasons why its popularity had dwindled i had always thought it was a good and popular enough card game to run competitive tournaments and still make a profit. i could never really understand why they killed it but now i understand completely, its because of reason 5.
reason 5 - Upper deck is run by the biggest bunch of F***WITS since the Bush administration.
Marvel Superstars TCG looks like it will have a shorter life span than a fly addicted to mortein, so thank you upper deck i was 60/40 in favour of playing Marvel Superstars Tcg when it was released but your recent code of conduct has left me 70/30 in favor of playing your card game when its released.... what the hell! did i even read my thread? i guess i really am a sucker for marvel madness.
