With more EDH being played, i'm now looking for a balanced set of rules to use within the shop.
Take these things into mind when building an EDH
1. We play EDH for fun. Any noob can Tinker into a Darksteel Colossus, or make a 3 card infinite loop. Get creative, use kooky cards, make it fun.
2. As it is not possible to keep track of the number of Generals being used now, just ask your opponent who their General is and if you have him, take him out of your deck (important in multi player games too)
3. Avoid cards that are obviously broken in a format where you start with 40 life. For example, heres a few cards that are affected by this and my thoughts on them... OK cards - Hatred, Ajani, Serra Avatar etc... These cards while initially look like they scale crazily a 20/20 avatar in a 20 life format is no different to a 40/40 one in a 40 life format. Paying that life for Hatred is also not an issue. Bad Cards - Necropotence, Rune-Tail, Divinity of Pride, Felidar Sovereign etc... Either truly broken in the format (Necro) or have threshold abilities that 20 extra life already triggers. Just don't play these cards.
4. Just don't play the Wish type cards. It makes life easier for everyone.
I'm sure more things will pop up...

Yes, but the banned list there is a list developed among competetive players. If you just kill the guy with the noobish combo we're all cool. I like the point system Glen posted a while back better

if u mean the 4,3,2,1 point list where u can only have 7 points, that is the point list for normal highlanders.
Normal highlander is still a very enjoyable format
